  • Facts about Frequency Multipliers

    September 22, 2018 1 min read

Frequency Multipliers are nonlinear circuits.  Their function is output the frequency that is the multiple of the source frequency.  Lotus has frequency Multipliers that has multiplier factor of 2, 4 and 8.

Frequency Multipliers are used in many Professional (Keysight, Anritsu) Signal Generators, especially for high frequencies above 20 GHz.

As a nonlinear circuits, Frequency Multipliers generate harmonics that is not negligible in many applications.  In most applications, a Low Pass Filter/ Band Pass Filter is added behind the Frequency Multiplier stage to filter unwanted Harmonics.

In this Blog, we will show the output the Frequency Multipliers and explain how to filter out the Harmonics.
